Feeling like the “World’s Worst Mom?” I get it—we’re in month 11 of this terribleness, and none of us can be our best selves. But many of my mom patients seem to be focusing only on what they perceive they’re doing wrong, and don’t give themselves credit for the *many* things they’re doing right. If you’re like these moms, try keeping a diary of “Mom wins” in your phone. Note down any parenting successes you have, regardless of how small (mine this morning: my son finally put on socks without being asked 50 times). You’re working incredibly hard—give yourself some credit for it! And be sure to revisit your list every time you start to feel like the “World’s Worst Mom” again.
